Micromax Launches Canvas A1 Android One Smartphone

Micromax has launched the Canvas A1, the company’s first Android One smartphone in partnership with Google, as we expected. The smartphone was teased at Google I/O in June. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, operated by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and operates on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It features a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. These specifications are the same Android One smartphones from Spice and Karbonn, just the design of the smartphone is different.

The Micromax Canvas A1 sports a 4.5inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) resolution IPS panel display. Inside we discover a MediaTek MT 6582 chipset that houses single.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The innards receive the task of running stock Android KitKat 4.4.4 and in the future will be running Android L. The internal memory of the Micromax Canvas A1 is really a paltry 4GB and after the OS and native apps you're left with about 2.5 GB of storage and that's why Amazon is throwing inside a free 8GB microSD card. In case you want more storage you can pop in microSD cards of up to 32GB. The 3G enabled Micromax Canvas A1 is another dual-SIM smartphone
